Nuria Ferrando (Valencia, 1981) mixes marble dust into her oil so the paint dries with a faint mineral weight — the surface catches light like a wall does, not like a photograph. She builds each canvas as a stack of colour fields, sanding the edges between sessions until they soften into one another instead of meeting in a line. Weight No. 4 is the fourth in an open series that began as a study of the plaster walls in her childhood home in Ruzafa: ochre for the afternoon light, a pink close to old lime wash, a grey that never quite settles. Ferrando shows rarely and sells almost everything she finishes; Lienzo House is her first gallery relationship outside Valencia.
